Membership Monday: Jeff Blankinship

The Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society has a new board member: Jeff Blankinship!

Over the last 35 years, Jeff Blankinship has dedicated his time and passion to creating and maintaining innovative technology to help medical providers and consumers. Recently, he became a board member for the Texas Ambulatory Surgical Center Society (TASCS).

He was actually the first vendor to become a board member for TASCS, about 10 years ago, but stepped down, as different opportunities arose. Now, he has returned with a re-ignited passion for the society and with a new company, SmartHealth Paycard, up and running.

When it comes to ambulatory surgery centers, Blankinship feels a challenge is a disconnected bill collection process. “The problem with healthcare is there are too many people between the consumer and the doctor that are just eating fees,” he says. SmartHealth PayCard consolidates the payment process into a single revolving line of credit. It is also the first card of its kind, as it’s restricted to healthcare-related purchases only.

As Blankinship’s company continues to grow, there are plans for a rewards program and medical record-keeping through the card. Additionally, as a TASCS board member, he is offering up special incentives for all of you TASCS members: Not only do you have access to this card, but your employees do, too, with all annual fees waived. It is also available for your patients. And for every member that signs up for the card, Blankinship will donate $25 our society’s advocacy fund!
